Information we collect

• Information you give us — your name, email address, phone number, stay dates, number of guests and the content of your message when you email us or make an enquiry.
• Booking information — when you book through the booking widget on our property pages, your reservation and payment details are processed by our booking engine provider (tripla). We do not store card numbers on this website.
• Guest registration — for stays in Japan, the law requires us to record the name, address, nationality and occupation of each guest, and a copy of the passport for guests who do not live in Japan.
• Usage data — pages visited, referring site, approximate location, device and browser type, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies (see below).

How we use it

• To answer enquiries and to arrange, manage and support your stay
• To meet legal obligations (guest registers under the Hotel Business Act and the Private Lodging Business Act)
• To understand how the site is used and improve it
• To show advertising (see below)

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic. It uses cookies to collect anonymous usage data. You can opt out with theGoogle Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Google AdSense. This site may display ads served by Google and its partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the Internet. Sharing with third parties

We share personal information only where needed:

• With service providers who work for us — booking engine (tripla), email hosting, analytics and advertising (Google)
• With booking platforms such as Airbnb when you book through them (their own privacy policies apply)
• When required by law, for example at the request of the police or public health authorities

Some of these providers store data outside Japan, including in the United States. Where we transfer data abroad, we do so in line with the APPI.

How long we keep it

We keep guest registers for three years as required by Japanese law. Enquiries and other correspondence are kept only as long as needed to handle them and for our business records.

Your rights

You may ask us to disclose, correct, stop using or delete the personal information we hold about you. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the rights given by the GDPR, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and limit access to the people who need it to run our business.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
